April, 2002:  DESIGN IMPROVEMENTS BRING QEP™ TILE SAWS INTO PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE ARENA - Boca Raton, FL
Q.E.P. Co., Inc. has engineered higher performance and more rugged durability into its line of tile saws, rounding out this season with six configurations to accommodate the wide-ranging needs of ceramic tile and stone installers.

The perfect balance of precision and value, QEP’s 60007-7" Tile Saw is powered by an industrial-strength, high-speed grinder motor that provides effortless cutting for all types of materials. Basic 16" tile ripping and 11" tile diagonal cutting is powered by the 1/2HP, 4000 RPM motor and guided by chrome-plated steel rails for precise alignment along the 11" x 13-3/4" cutting table.  The table rolls along easily on large nylon bearings and flips up for quick and easy cleaning of the water tray.  The rugged plastic tray will not rust and keeps the whole assembly lightweight and portable.  The 60007 is manufactured to ISO 9000 specs and comes equipped with a 7" continuous rim diamond blade, cutting guide and water pump.  The 60007 is a semi-professional level tool, ideal for pros whose tile installation volume doesn't justify the investment in a top-of-the-line tile saw.

Serious accuracy and vibration-free cutting characterize the QEP 60009-7" Direct-Drive Tile Saw.  The powerful 1/2HP, 3400 RPM direct-drive motor eliminates any shimmies or movement caused by motor slippage that can happen with belts and pulleys.  Precise alignment for ripping 16" tile or diagonal cuts on 11" pieces is easy on the large cutting table, which rolls smoothly on nylon wheels and bearings.  Its tough, fiberglass-impregnated polycarbonate water reservoir will not rust, and the continuous-feed water pump reduces dust while lubricating the blade.  The 60009 package includes a 7" continuous rim diamond blade, cutting guide and water pump.  The 60009 is a real value for professionals with a moderate cutting volume. It’s easy to carry and great for small projects.

Versatility and portability are the bywords for the 60085-7" Portable Tile Saw, a light duty tool available exclusively by QEP.  Ideal for a wide variety of angled and linear cuts, the 60085 offers an adjustable 16-1/2" square cutting table with raised positions that can be set for 15°, 30°, 45° and 60° precision cuts.  The high -output 1/3HP motor runs on 3.5 amps at an efficient 3400 RPM to make unlimited cut lengths.  Fire-resistant plastic materials, an automatic thermal overload system protection, and water reservoir side overflow for proper water level ensure the safest possible operation.  An adjustable linear guide enabling right or left hand use, along with overflow channels that return water to the reservoir, make the 60085 comfortable and convenient to use.  The saw will accept 6" or 7" blades, and ships with a 7" continuous rim diamond blade, cutting guide and water pump.

High production capacity, dependable precision and the best value QEP offers are found in the 60010 10" Dual-Speed Tile Saw.  A potent 2HP, dual-speed 1700/2850 RPM motor adjusts for all types of cuts, and automatic thermal overload system protection ensures long saw life.  Its rail assembly is permanently attached to the saw frame, eliminating movement and its attendant adjustments for improved cutting precision.  With a maximum cutting depth of 3-3/4", the 60010 rips up to 14" and diagonally cuts 12" tile.  This package comes complete with cutting guide, miter block, water pump and a 10" continuous rim diamond blade.  The 60010 is a professional quality tool.

Professional installers will appreciate QEP’s dependability, priced right with the 60060 10" Installer Grade Tile Saw.  A burly 2HP, 1700 and 2850 RPM capacitor start motor.  The 11-1/2" x 16" cutting table has front and side extensions to fit large format tiles, and installers can rip 20" tile and perform diagonal cuts up to 14".  The chrome-plated steel guide rail adjusts easily for precise cutting alignment, and the cutting table top flips up for easy water tray cleaning.  The tray table rolls smoothly on large nylon cart wheels.  Its plastic water tray will not rust and snaps in and out effortlessly with latches for easy cleaning.  The 60060 comes with a 10" continuous rim diamond blade, cutting guide, miter block and water pump.

When smaller jobs and enclosed spaces call for a less bulky saw, QEP’s 21643 Handheld Tile Saw is the answer.  Featuring a powerful 11,800 RPM motor with 1-1/2HP, the 21643 cuts a variety of hard material, including tile, granite, marble and stone.  Its adjustable base allows precision changes in cutting depth and blade angle, and the miter guide keeps cuts accurate.  The compact powerhouse offers an easy ON/OFF pushbutton switch and a cushioned rubber grip for comfortable use.  Accessories include a 4" continuous rim diamond cutting blade, blade wrenches and a highly durable, blow-molded case for safe, easy transport.  Its one-year limited warranty makes the 21643 saw a great value for the investment.

Four high-performance workhorses charge out of the gate as Q.E.P. Co., Inc. introduces several upgraded floor covering installation power tools to its already broad line.  The well-known manufacturer emerges this season with new product developments and an increased focus on injecting greater power and durability into their offerings for professional installers.  A one-year limited warranty makes each tool a great value for the investment.

The popular “Jamby” 21600 Jamb Saw has always been well-received for its special design that makes trimming wood door jambs and cove base a breeze.  Its unique configuration allows cuts in hard-to-reach places, such as inside corners and under toe-kicks, and the cutting of pocket doors.  A more efficient 5.8 amp motor still delivers needed power while working with die-cast aluminum components to keep weight more manageable, reducing operator fatigue.  This model also features a more compact 4-1/4" blade, making it even more versatile in tight spots.  Precise blade height adjustment offers visible index marks for quick, easy movement between 1/4" to 1-1/8", keeping installer progress smooth and continuous.  The Jamby 21680 comes in a durable plastic molded carrying case with a Pro Performance Package that includes one 4-1/4" carbide tip blade, a blade wrench, a spring return safety guard and spare parts.

QEP’s 21687 Premium 4-1/2" Angle Grinder provides professional tile and marble installers with a powerful 5.8 amp, 11,000 RPM industrial power unit for the strength and durability to shape and edge these hard surfaces.  Ball bearing construction and hardened gears provide long, quiet-running tool life with accurate cutting, and its lightweight, compact design provides greater comfort during extended use.  The 21687’s double-insulated body prevents water damage to the high performance motor.  The Premium Angle Grinder ships with carrying case, 4-1/2" abrasive grinding disk, spindle wrench, side-mount handle and instruction manual.

Tilesetters needing a professional grade mixing tool will welcome QEP’s New 21630 D-Handle 1/2" Mixing Drill.  Its powerful 6 amp motor offers variable speeds for versatility in mixing thinset, grout and mortar, and the reverse setting helps back out of coagulated masses.  Concerns about motor burnout are gone with the 21630’s high torque reduction gears.  Its die-cast aluminum housing, trigger lock and top-mounting handle assure lightweight, comfortable operation, and the precision 1/2" chuck is perfect for use with QEP’s grout mixers and super mixer.  The mixing drill comes with a tool kit that includes a chuck key, an auxiliary top-mount handle and an instruction manual.

Smaller jobs and enclosed spaces call for QEP’s less bulky 21643 Handheld Tile Saw.  Featuring a powerful 11,800 RPM motor with 1-1/2HP, the 21643 cuts a variety of material including tile, granite, marble and stone.
